Bath Time Antics
As difficult as it makes things, this really is quite funny.... Since we don't have a bath tub in the apartment AND since we have to boil the water that we bathe Caden with, (since he uncontrollably drinks it) we are bathing him in a large plastic bin in the middle of the kitchen. The bin is conveniently placed in the kitchen so that we don't have to move the water so far and so we can dump it down the drain easily. UNFORTUNATELY, it is also placed in close proximity of Caden's toys. He LOVES to throw his toys in the tub. At bath time, it has become a race, how much stuff can he throw in before I catch him!!! I have watched him actually run, as quick as his little legs will let him, to get things in the tub. The tricky part is keeping him from throwing the toys in after the water has already been added. Since the water is usually added in batches, boiled, stored cooler water and fresh boiled HOT water, this makes things particularly interesting. He has slipped a few things past me, but nothing has been as bad as the time that my Mom was keeping him so that Brad and I could go to dinner. He threw his Night Night Blanket, his beloved Ele Phant into the tub, WITH WATER. Mind you, we don't have a dryer, so that made bedtime and the whole night through quite interesting. It can't go without mentioning that at least an hour was spent in front of the hair dryer that night too! ;) Since the Ele incident, I try to make sure that nothing as important as him makes it in the water. One night he did manage to throw a diaper, a pair of socks and a paper towel roll in addition to the toys. Two nights ago the TV remote was in jeopardy, but I was able to act quickly. That boy! He is so funny! He cracks me up, even when it isn't always funny!
